Statement of Interest
Consulting
I thrive in environments where collaboration and problem-solving are at the forefront. I’ve always been a people-oriented person who loves bringing different perspectives together to solve complex challenges. For me, consulting offers the perfect balance of teamwork, analytical thinking, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on the companies and individuals I would be working with. I’m passionate about working closely with clients to find meaningful, actionable solutions.
What also excites me about consulting is the continuous learning and variety it offers. Each client presents a unique set of challenges, requiring me to adapt, learn, and innovate. This dynamic environment motivates me to push my boundaries and grow both professionally and personally. I’m driven by a desire to help others succeed, and I hope to build lasting relationships based on trust and mutual respect. Consulting is where I can combine my passion for helping others with my love for strategic thinking.
Product Management
Product management excites me because it sits at the intersection of technology, innovation, and customer experience. I’m passionate about creating products that solve real-world problems and make a tangible difference in people’s lives. With my interdisciplinary background in business and computer science, I’ve developed a strong interest in understanding how products are built from the ground up—how the market, customer needs, and technology come together to shape a successful product.
I love the idea of being the bridge between different teams, from engineers to designers to marketing, and aligning everyone around a shared vision. Product management is not just about having great ideas but executing them effectively, and I am excited to take on the challenge of managing that process. I enjoy thinking critically about product features, prioritizing them based on customer needs and business impact, and working with cross-functional teams to bring those ideas to life. I am driven to create products that are not only innovative but also deeply resonant with users. I look forward to being part of a field where creativity meets strategy and where I can leave a lasting mark by delivering products that truly make a difference.
Core Story Set
Working with Data
As a Data Analytics Intern for Princeton Pharmatech, I was assigned to assist in a new research project that aimed to utilize a large dataset of electronic health records to improve neurodegenerative disease diagnosis efficiency. Our goal was to uncover meaningful patterns from a dataset of 22,000 ALS patients and 10 million non-ALS patients. Using R, I applied sequential pattern mining techniques (cSpade) and collaborated with bioinformatics experts to refine the algorithm. We presented our findings at the American Statistical Association's Joint Statistical Meetings and won 2nd place at the IEOM Rome STEM competition. Princeton Pharmatech is now utilizing these findings to develop an application to support those going through the ALS diagnosis process.
Demonstrating Leadership
As a competitive figure skater for 14 years, I witnessed the financial barriers that many young athletes face in accessing necessary equipment. This inspired me to make sports more inclusive and accessible. I aimed to address this affordability challenge by creating a sustainable solution that could help aspiring athletes overcome financial obstacles. I led market research, conducting interviews with hundreds of athletes and families to understand their struggles. Using these insights, I co-founded ReSport, LLC, a peer-to-peer e-commerce platform for second-hand sports gear. I guided the platform’s development to ensure it met user needs and pitched the idea at the GATSVI Venture Challenge. We won the $5,000 Platinum Award, validating ReSport’s potential and concept.
Solving Business Problems
As part of the WashU Taylor Community Consulting program, I consulted for Habitat for Humanity (HfH) ReStore, a nonprofit retail operation funding HfH initiatives. ReStore faced challenges with community engagement, volunteer retention, and inventory quality. My team addressed these issues by developing innovative strategies for ReStore's retail strategy. We conducted on-site reviews, competitor analysis, and research on high-performing ReStores. Based on our findings, we proposed three strategies: mission-aligned branding through “Impact Stories,” a partnership with WashU Alpha Phi Omega for reliable volunteers, and a “College Move-Out Donation Day” to source quality inventory. These solutions were presented in a report and implementation framework, which are being adopted to improve ReStore operations.
Working with Teams
My team was tasked with developing a comprehensive communication strategy for Unbloat, a wellness brand, to improve customer engagement, enhance brand awareness, and expand its market presence. We needed to identify areas for improvement in Unbloat’s current messaging and create actionable solutions to address these challenges. Together, we crafted a three-phase strategy: static advertisements, micro-influencer partnerships, and website restructuring. Our strategy was presented in a detailed proposal, projecting a 10,000-sale increase and setting the foundation for scalable growth. This collaboration honed my teamwork skills and taught me how to effectively blend individual strengths to achieve collective success while delivering impactful results.
